Mako Level

The shortfin mako shark is the fastest shark in the ocean, absolutely gorgeous and the logo of the ASI. Prized for its meat and the spectacular jumps it makes, it is now considered Endangered globally by the IUCN, with its population decreasing. We have two studies focused on the mako and both have increased in importance with the significant challenges this iconic shark is facing.
