Kady Lyons PhD

Research Advisory Board

Biography

Kady took a job as a research scientist at the Georgia Aquarium after completing her PhD in Canada after years of working on her favorite species, the round stingray, for her Master’s and doctoral degrees. The broad focus of her work spans the fields of ecology to physiology with an emphasis on reproduction and toxicology in elasmobranchs. As a California native, Kady grew up with an appreciation for the ocean that has translated into a career studying sharks and rays. Currently, much of her work has a strong field work component and she can often be found on either US coast collaborating with a number of colleagues.
